Piafendless side-scroller
A bird, some pipes, a single key. Piaf has no rules to learn — only a gesture to find, and a rhythm to keep.
Goal of the game
Clear as many pipes as possible without touching anything.
Every pipe you clear is worth one point. One contact and the run is over: there are no lives and no continues.
The only control
- One press makes the bird flap its wings: it gets an upward push, always the same.
- Between two flaps, gravity pulls it back down, faster and faster.
- So you control neither height nor speed, only the moment you press.
- Not pressing is also a decision: falling is your main way of going down.
Rhythm
- Small, regular taps beat big swings. Stable flight comes from closely spaced flaps, not from a roller coaster.
- One late flap can be recovered; two never can. As soon as you feel too low, press straight away, not “at the last moment”.
- The classic trap is the panic double tap: it sends the bird into the top pipe, which kills you just like the bottom one.
Where to aim
- Do not aim for the middle of the gap: aim for its lower edge, and arrive on the way up.
- A rising bird forgives one flap too many; a falling bird forgives nothing.
- Look at the next gap, not the one you are going through. Once you are inside the pipe, it is already decided.
- On long runs, your eyes give up before your fingers do: keep them looking ahead.
The mistakes that cost the most
- Pressing too late. The push is fixed; it cannot make up for a fall that has already gone on too long.
- Pressing twice in a row by reflex. The ceiling and the top pipe are as deadly as the ground.
- Watching the bird instead of the gap.
- Speeding up as the score climbs. The difficulty does not change: the tension does. Keep the same pace.

Frequently asked questions
How do you score points?
One point per pipe cleared. There is no other source of score, and no bonus.
Are there several lives?
No. A single contact ends the run, whether with a pipe, the ground or the ceiling.
Does the difficulty increase with the score?
The gap between the pipes does not change. What increases is the stakes: the higher the score, the tenser your hand gets.
Where should you aim in the gap?
Towards the lower edge, arriving on the way up. A rising path leaves a margin for error; a falling path leaves none.
Does the game work offline?
Yes, entirely, with no account and no ads. The optional Pass is only for the online leaderboard.
